At Sudoku Challenge, we believe that competition should be a test of skill and logic — not who has the best external tools. Every feature of our anti-cheating system is designed to level the playing field.
Anti-Cheating Measures
Our platform implements multiple layers of protection to maintain competitive integrity:
Global Solver Blocking — When a puzzle is used in an active tournament or duel, it is blocked from our Solver tool globally across all devices and browsers worldwide.
Focus Detection & Board Blurring — During competitive play, switching tabs or minimizing the browser automatically blurs the puzzle board.
No Pause in Competitive Play — The timer cannot be paused during tournaments or duels. All players compete under identical time constraints.
Unique & Deterministic Puzzles — Each tournament generates unique puzzles deterministically on the blockchain, ensuring every participant receives the same puzzle.
One Account, One Tournament — Each player can only participate in one tournament at a time.
Rating Integrity
Our Elo-style rating system includes safeguards for fair rankings:
Duel Margin Awareness — Rating changes account for how close the match was.
Rating Convergence — New players have higher volatility, allowing ratings to stabilize faster.
Fair Matching — Duel matchmaking pairs players within a similar rating range.
Admin Oversight — Administrators can review suspicious activity and adjust ratings if manipulation is detected.
Community Guidelines
The following behaviors are not tolerated:
Offensive, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory language
Harassment, threats, or personal attacks
Spam, advertising, or irrelevant content
Impersonation of other players or administrators
Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities for competitive advantage
Use of external solving tools during competitive play
Enforcement Actions
Warning — A private notice for minor first-time violations
Rating Adjustment — Correction of ratings affected by manipulation
Temporary Ban — Suspension from competitive play for repeated offenses
Permanent Ban — Account termination for severe or persistent violations
