Live, timed, multiplayer Sudoku — automated global events twice a day, or a lobby of your own.
Two automated tournament slots run every day at 08:00 and 20:00 UTC. Each slot opens three events — Easy, Medium and Hard — so there is something to enter regardless of level. Easy and Medium run for 30 minutes; Hard runs for a full hour.
These are created and finalised by the system, so nobody has to organise them and they start on time whether two players show up or two hundred. Results settle automatically the moment the clock runs out.
You can also open a lobby yourself and set the difficulty and duration to whatever you want. Other players see it in the tournament list and can join or leave freely until it begins. Once it starts, the field is locked and everyone races the same puzzles on the same clock.
Two rules keep the list honest: a player can only be in one tournament at a time, and a tournament with fewer than two players at its start time is cancelled automatically rather than being scored as a solo walkover. Finished tournaments are cleared from the list twelve hours after they end.
Your score reflects both what you solved and how fast. Harder puzzles are worth more, and a time bonus rewards finishing early. Crucially, an unfinished grid still scores: partial credit is awarded for correct progress, so a near-miss on a Hard puzzle can beat a comfortable finish on an easy one and there is never a reason to stop trying.
Scores sit inside a per-difficulty band — Easy 100–999, Medium 1,000–1,999, Hard 2,000–4,999, Extreme 5,000–7,999, Diabolical 8,000–9,999 — so a number tells you the tier at a glance and stays comparable across the site. Tournaments are rated, and every participant's rating settles together when the event finalises.
A live leaderboard updates through the event, and spectator mode lets you watch any competitor's board fill in as it happens — useful for learning how a stronger solver attacks a grid you found hard.
Competitive rules apply throughout: no pausing the clock, assist tools disabled, switching tabs blurs your board, and the solver refuses any puzzle that is live in the event. The Fair Play Policy sets out the full detail.

You need an account to be rated and to appear on the leaderboard. Signing in uses Internet Identity, so there is no password and no email required.
You still score. Partial credit is awarded for correct progress, so an unfinished Hard grid can outscore a completed easier one.
